This week was alot of greatness, and alot of disappointment in one rolled up together. Last week our new filly MISS RESISTANCE FREE took her first notable race at Churchill Downs. This is exciting to us because, it was the Glorified Juvenile which is named after a home-bred stallion right in our stables. Now she will be taking a slow break until her next big race in June.
We came home tonight after a long day of hustle and bustle, Captain (THE BLACK PEARL) had a good run at the Preakness Stakes but was beaten by DUST ME OFF. Upon arrival to the farm we learned that the colt is favoring a front leg. Possible muscle problems could've been the result of a late start out of the gate. He will be taking lots of time in the Therapy Barn this week to rest up and probably take his trip back down to Churchill Downs in a week and a half for the Belmont Stakes. I (Renee) have also seemed to have injured myself, ironic really but it is quite possible my wrist is vaguely sprained. That will be under rest most definitely within the next week and a half.
